Wood Meter Location and Reading Instructions:
For best results, First time users should print and read this page before proceeding.
First time users will be taken to the Create User screen.
Make up a Username of your choosing.
Enter a password of your choosing.
Reenter the password into Verify Password.
Hit submit and your new user profile will be created.
Once your user profile is created, you will be taken to the “Meter Details “ screen.
To add a new account to the file, fill in the Route, Page, Sequence, Account #, Name, Service Address, Location, Current Reading, Meter Type then hit Save.
Account # and Service Address are required items that must be filled in.
All other data items are optional but the more data you have the more sense it will make later on.
Route is usually associated with the old manual meter reading book number.
Page is the page within that book.
Sequence is usually entered as 00. This allows for the insertion of addition meters between two consecutive pages, at a later date.
Account # is usually assigned by the billing department and may consist of the property id code and the customer account number.
Name is the Customer name that is to be billed for the consumption.
Service Address is usually the 911 address associated with the property.
Location is usually a meter serial number or a number from a map that indicates the uniqueness of that location.
Current Reading is the meter reading.
Meter Type indicates what is being metered. Water, gas, electricity, etc.
Do not concern yourself with the Latitude and Longitude during the initial entry of data.
Later, you will get into the data edit mode, using the Lookup and List options above.
While standing over the meter with your GPS activated unit ( iPad, iPhone, Droid, etc) you will select the “Yes” checkbox to “Update GPS Coordinates” and hit the Save button to flag the meter location on Google Maps.
