Summary:

1. Using nitrogen in tires actually means using air with the oxygen and moisture removed.  Lower oxygen content, means the tires will oxidize at a slower rate.  The slower the tire oxidizes, means the tire will retain its new tire characteristics longer, which interprets into better handling and a safer ride.
2. Proper tire inflation insures that the correct amount of rubber contacts the road; which optimizes handling, producing a safer ride. Also, roll resistance is optimized, causing gas-mileage and tread- ware to be optimized.
3. Keep it Simple.  Few people follow the manufacturer’s recommendation to check tire pressure at least once a month, stating it is too much trouble.  An Automatic Tire Inflator, being the latest technology, may be the solution.  Four tires can be topped-off with less time and effort than simply checking the tire pressures with a conventional tire gauge.

If I remove the oxygen from air I get deoxygenated air.
If I remove the oxygen and moisture from air I get near pure nitrogen.
 
If I fill a tire with pure oxygen, the tire will oxidize very quickly and could even burst into flame.  It follows, if I remove the oxygen from a tire, the oxidization process will be severely inhibited.  In fact, the oxidation process will be reduced by about two thirds.  This is a very significant piece of information.  This means that a tire filled with nitrogen will take about three times as long to oxidize as the same tire filled with air.  I have heard this oxidization process referred to as “dry rot”.

Oxygen and moisture are removed from air and the resulting nitrogen is piped into this automatic tire inflator.

If I top-off an Air filled tire with this automatic tire inflator, the percentage of oxygen in the tire will be reduced, thereby reducing the rate of oxidation in that tire.  This is a good thing, not as good as a complete air to nitrogen conversion, but still, a good thing.

If I top-off a Nitrogen filled tire with this automatic tire inflator, the percentage of oxygen in the tire will remain low and the oxidation process will remain at the reduced rate brought on by the earlier air to nitrogen conversion.

The absence of oxygen and moisture is the primary factor in obtaining beneficial results from inflating tires with nitrogen.

Automatic Tire Inflator is controlled by a mag-stripe card similar to a credit card.  A single swipe of the card will turn the Tire Inflator on for 10 minutes.  If more time is needed, swipe the card again.
Card is activated for a minimum of one year from purchase date.  Card is issued for personal, non-commercial use only.

This Automatic Tire Inflator is designed as a Top-Off Unit.  Unit can top-off four tires in a couple of minutes.  No Tire gauge is needed.  Just set the desired PSI and attach the air-chuck to the valve-stem.  Unit will adjust the tire pressure with nitrogen by inflation or deflation, then beep and flash.  Move the air-chuck to the next tire.

One Nitrogen Access Card in a household may be used to:

1. Top-off all vehicles in the household, both Nitrogen and Air filled.
2. Re-convert all tires of every vehicle in the household.
3. Convert tires of the household that are on four-wheelers, lawn-mowers, utility trailers, boat trailers, motorcycles, golf carts, etc.

Auto manufacturers recommend that tire inflation pressure be topped-off every 30 days to the manufacturers’ specification.  Recommended psi is generally found on a label inside the driver’s door facing or in the owner’s manual.  Historically, most people do not comply with this recommendation, saying it is too much trouble.  If I do not know the recommended psi for my vehicle, I probably need to get a nitrogen access card for myself.  I have chosen an automatic tire inflator that is so efficient, all four tires can be topped-off quicker and with less effort than it normally takes to just check the tire pressure.   Maintaining proper tire inflation ensures the proper amount of tread contacts the road, which means better performance, better mileage, and a safer ride.
